Suzuki presents the new SWIFT Hybrid facelift, an extremely popular sports hatchback.

Suzuki's hybrid system converts the kinetic energy generated during deceleration into electrical energy, which charges the lithium-ion battery. The power stored in the battery is used by the generator to assist the engine during acceleration offering higher torque and at the same time lower fuel consumption. The generator also takes over stopping and restarting the engine when the car is about to stop (start-stop function).

It is, according to the company, an ideal hybrid system for small cars, as it is designed to offer not only economy in fuel consumption, but also additional space savings and optimal body weight distribution.

In addition, the hybrid technological innovation of the new K12D engine has managed to significantly reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, with the result that the 2WD versions with manual transmission are offered with zero road tax.
